I need to exercise more regularly. :(
mood: Demoralised
Oh man, using the calorie counter on my dad's exercise bike is so DEMORALISING. It took me about 45minutes just to burn 300 calories! D: (When I told this to my mom, she laughed and said, "Oh, so that's only enough to burn off a piece of cake?" i_i) Considering females my age need an average of 2000 calories a day, that means I only got rid of 1/7th of my daily calorie intake! D:D:D: Though considering how little I eat, I wonder whether I actually fulfill my daily requirement. *guilt* I DO eat a lot of crappy junk food that probably makes up for that though. -_-
And man, I've known this for a while except that I've always been in denial, but I finally admit defeat and acknowledge that my stamina is now the PITS. That's what all these years of lazing about have done to me, they've reduced me to a rubbery mass (or more like mess) of flesh that can barely take a measly 45 minutes on an exercise bike without sweating like crazy. I worry for my future health. i_i
Btw, I was checking websites to see if my estimate of the average daily calorie requirement was right, and stumbled upon this site which lets you calculate your personal daily calorie intake. It said mine should be 1630.2, and further suggested that I should burn 206.91 calories a day if I'm moderately active. So I guess the 300 calories thingy isn't too bad. It's just that it never occurred to me that it was so difficult to lose calories; I'd always assumed a vigorous PE lesson could let you lose loads but now I know better. As my sis said, (I paraphrase) "Guess this teaches us not to eat all sorts of random junk."
Oh, and before anyone lays into me and starts yelling "Stop worrying about losing weight when you've got none to lose, you fool!", let me just say that all this calorie talk doesn't mean that my goal is to lose weight, since I don't want to. I'm more concerned with getting regular exercise so that I remain healthy and don't suffer from all sorts of health problems in the future, especially since my family has a history of high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Don't want to have to totter around or be infirm in bed or be constantly in pain when I'm old. :(
EDIT: Btw, I replied to some of the comments in my entry if anyone wants to check them out. :) [Karma: -4 (+/-)][link]

The apocalypse has arrived!
mood: D:
Oh man, is it me or is the whole world going crazy? I know I've been saying that for a while but when I was trying to catch up on current affairs today it just confirmed the fact that everything's falling to pieces. Malaysia and Thailand have political upheavals, there are a million and one natural disasters, and zillions of firms are going bust or getting bought over, even really old and established ones like Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. And I even found out today that ABN Amro got bought over by RBS. I feel like there's so much change going on right now that I'm not going to recognise the world in the mere span of a year's time. O_O [Karma: -10 (+/-)][link] [170 Comments]
