Today is "Let's Abuse YJ's Feet Day"
mood: Annoyed
Argh, I hate my feet! I hate the fact that they're so wide that it's really difficult to find a pair of shoes that doesn't end up pinching my feet after walking for more than 20 minutes! And most of all I hate the fact that my right foot is so much bigger than my left! I think it's probably one size bigger, which makes buying shoes such a PAIN. LITERALLY. *sayangs her aching feet*
It makes me wish I was a millionaire who could just buy two pairs of all my shoes one size apart and then just swop them so that they'll fit my ANNOYING feet. I seriously am wondering if my right foot somehow GREW to be so much huger than my left over the years - I don't remember the size difference being such a problem before! Then again, I suppose I never really had much shoe experience to begin with - I don't think I've ever had more than 5 pairs of shoes at a time that I wore regularly, even starting from JC when I started caring about fashion. (Maybe not even more than 3! D:) I blame it on the fact that I take forever to find shoes since I always want them to be comfortable, cheap and attractive, but that in practice it's generally pretty difficult to hit bingo with all those three factors... two factors, yes, but not three. *sigh*
Anyway, this outburst is brought about by my new white shoes that I bought for office and which I really like, but which majorly murdered my feet when I wore them today for my interview. (More on that next entry, sleepy so I'm going to bed soon after I'm done with this one.) My poor battered feet have just been getting lots of blisters lately, since even my beige sandals gave me some trouble before I got used to them again - I think my feet have forgotten what wearing "real" shoes are like since I pretty much just wore boots and sneakers everywhere in the UK. ^_^;;
One good thing is that I'm temporarily out of my shoe crisis, since other than the brutal white pair I also bought a nice green suede pair and a cheap pair of black ones to wear to work. (When I actually, y'know, manage to snag a job. -_-) It's quite amazing since I couldn't find any shoe designs I like the past few weeks I've been shoe shopping, but then I found three pairs in two days. I think it's because I decided it's impossible for me to find the perfect pair of shoes so I lowered my standards in terms of comfort, but sadly that means my pitiful feet are suffering for that now. :( Hopefully once I start work and have more money I won't feel so xin tong to shell out big bucks for good-looking and very comfortable shoes. Or that such shoes even exist. *crosses fingers and hopes for the best* [Karma: -3 (+/-)][link] [155 Comments]

SCARY! i_i
mood: Heart-thumping
Omg! So scary! After today's class outing I had separated from my friends and was heading towards Borders to get a lift from my sis. I was walking under the Taka covered walkway (the one near the main entrance which leads to the escalators to the basement) when I noticed the bunch of guys right in front of me talking really loudly and pushing each other around. At first I thought they were a group of friends just horsing around, and was just about to speed up so I could overtake them and avoid getting in their way, but then all of a sudden the guy just in front of me took out a glass bottle and smashed it against another guy's head!
I was so freaked out that I just turned tail and siam-ed. I had run onto the pavement parallel to the walkway when all the guys scattered. Some of the ran onto the pavement as well, and I was so worried that they were going to start fighting again and I'd somehow get dragged into it. Thank god they didn't, though - I think maybe they knew that if they had remained behind to fight some more the police would eventually have come to arrest them.
That was the first time in my life I've ever been so close to a fight! Most ones I've seen before have been further away where I could give them a wide berth, but this time, I think if the guys had just taken a few steps back in my direction they could have stabbed me with a broken bottle or something. My sis, after I mentioned the story to her, told me that her friend had related a story to her where his friend got randomly stabbed by a gang of guys fighting in a kopitiam, even though the victim had been a complete stranger to the brawlers! He even had to be sent to the hospital and everything. Such incredible bad luck. *shivers*
Thankfully that didn't happen to me. I am SO SO glad that I have, as my sis remarked amusedly, very good survival instincts. ^_^;; [Karma: -4 (+/-)][link]
