Emma Thompson Wikipedia entry
mood: Shocked
OMG EMMA THOMPSON IS MARRIED TO WILLOUGBY. D:
Since the Sense and Sensibility film is really the defining film for my love for Emma Thompson, it just seems so WEIRD to me that she's married to the guy who plays Willoughby in that movie. ^_^;; (You'll know what I'm talking about if you've watched the film and know who their characters are.)
And I didn't know she was married to Kenneth Branagh at one time either. I suppose now it makes sense why they made Much Ado About Nothing together.
So many interesting things I'm finding out, really - like the fact that it took her 9 years to work on Nanny McPhee. 0_o And the fact that Kenneth Branagh was Gilderoy Lockheart in the Harry Potter movie. *shock* [Karma: 5 (+/-)][link]

Kotani Kinya Love <3<3<3
mood: Fangirly
Am suddenly on a Kotani Kinya kick. I've always liked his songs after watching Gravitation, but I stumbled across this blog post which posted up some of his mtvs, and OMG, some of his earlier ones are SO BAD. XD I think it's probably because he was going for the hyper insane kind of image, so all his music vids are really whacked out, and he's got the most AWFUL clothes in his live videos. (I find Japanese popstars/boybands tend to have really horrible dress sense. XD) But apparently he's recently change his image and is trying to go for the SNAG look - talk about different! Anyway, though I'd share some of his TERRIBLE MUSIC VIDEOS here. XD
I have only one thing to say: YELLOW TASSELS. XD
Blaze - for those of you who don't know, this is the OP to the Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle anime series. This is the video where you can see him in his new SNAG-gy image. :p
My fav vid. Check out the audience dancing along. :p And the backup dancers crack me up, especially the guy in the red shirt with his weird expressions. :p This is the sort of vid that makes you want to dance along - even though the dancing is of the sort that I'd call the "if you're happy and you know it then prance around on the spot!" variety. But it looks SO FUN. :p
He's really nuts in this one. XD
Another extremely weird music video
Dear god, his OUTFIT. My eyes, they BURN! :p MORE YELLOW TASSEL ACTION! And I think all the live vids are from the same concert since he has varying degrees of yellow tassels in all of them. :p
And something not Kotani Kinya related, but rather Gravitation related:
The song "Shining Collection". It still amazes me how fast he sings. And I like that it has romaji subtitles, because up till I saw this vid, instead of hearing the phrase "taiki wa somaru", I kept hearing the last bit as "so malu". (Singaporeans will know what that means. XD) Also check out the weird red musicians. :p (Apparently one of them wrote the music for Kotani Kinya's songs in Gravitation)
In any case, I think I'm turning into a Kotani Kinya fangirl. Watching the live and the hyper audience makes me want to see him in concert too. Now I know how Tiff feels with her Kat-tun mania. XD I want to buy his albums! Must save up. *wallet sighs* [Karma: -2 (+/-)][link] [1 Comment]

Pre-exam stress
mood: Freaking Out
You know you're freaking out over exams when you dream that you have to go to parties with your friends whom you've not met for quite a while (Table Gang) over the next two days and you think "Oh crap, this means I won't have enough time to study, this is a nightmare!" *sigh*
And note to body: Goddammit, can you please stop freaking SLEEPING all the time? You DON'T need more than the required 8 hours if the exams are drawing near. You simply don't.
In other news, I think I'm slowly but surely turning into a Firefox convert. Thanks to dear M who taught me that you can download add-ons such as the ability to use IE tabs in Firefox. :D (Our University email looks SO much better on IE) Though I kind of prefer how IE is more mouse-friendly than Firefox which is more keyboardy, since I'm more of a clicker type browser than a typer. Though this is just a just minor little gripe that isn't really a proper beef and really just stems from how I usually prefer using stuff I'm used to as opposed to trying out new stuff. Considering how good everyone says Firefox is, though, I think once I get used to it I'll probably be using it instead of IE in the near future. :) [Karma: -5 (+/-)][link] [1 Comment]

Wii in Singapore
music: P.D.A (We Just Don't Care) - John Legend
Heard that the Wii was launched in Singapore last month, so out of curiousity I decided to look up for some information on it. (Even though I've decided I'm not going to buy one until the prices drop and I'm earning my own money... which means it'll be a at least a couple of years before I get one. >_>)
Anyway, thought I'd post something that cracked me up:
First, details on the pricing of the Wii in Singapore:
1) The Nintendo Wii console alone is priced at S$499 /w GST (Goods Service Tax). Now get this, we were also informed that the console will still remain at S$499 (GST included) come this July, when the GST is increased from 5% to 7%. (Update: The Wii will be sold as a bundle at retail, which comes with one game and one additional Wiimote controller for S$649)
2) The Wii will come included with Wii Sports.
3) It'll come with an officially approved 220v adapter.
4) Wii titles will be priced at S$79.90 (/w GST), or there and about.
5) The Wiimote controller will be priced at S$69.90 (/w GST)
6) The Nanchuk attachment controller will be priced at S$39.90 (/w GST)
7) The Wii Classic controller will be priced at S$39.90 (/w GST)
8) All prices above are Standard Retail Pricing (SRP).
And then an astute forum-goer's observation:
u all look carefully at the bundle price...if i buy the components individually i can save 20cents man! bundle my ass....i'm not going to get it if its so freaking expensive...
Way to do your math, Maxsoft. Are you really that hard up that you'd attempt to trick us consumers out of a measly 20cents? And I don't actually know why I find that post so amusing, I just do. I suppose it has to do with how disgusted that forum goer sounds, and perhaps also because of the profusion of "PUI!"s that another poster on that forum uses whenever he's complains about the crappy job Maxsoft is doing. XD
EDIT: And apparently this is just a "soft" launch, meaning that the Wiis are just US imports with switched power bricks, so you can't even choose "Singapore" in the country setting. 0_o [Karma: 4 (+/-)][link] [No Comments]
