10/17/2007: "Kung Fu Gecko"
music: Canto Alla Vita -Josh Grobanmood: Excited
Omg, this is damn cute!
For those who don't know, Kung Fu Gecko is an entirely CG film that's being developed by a Singaporean Company called Egg Story Creative Production. When I first read about this in the newspaper, I wasn't too impressed since I thought the concept sounded really lame. But after seeing this trailer, I'm really looking forward to seeing it - I'm crossing my fingers it comes out by the time I'm back in Singapore for me to catch it. The animation is amazing, and I thought that last bit at the end ("Oh man, we blew it.") was really cute - for some reason it just really amused me to see the toad all covered in rice. XD I don't actually know if the story's going to be any good or not, but being the fervent local industry supporter I am, I think I'm gonna go watch this anyway even if reviews are bad. :p (I just really hope I get the chance to watch it!)
Oh, and if you click on the link for more info, check out the adorable animated icons on the top of the page you get brought too. :D
Speaking of which, I must plug the 881 movie (which I was really looking forward to watching and which I really liked when I did) next time when I have the chance. But am feeling too lazy to do so now, so for those who want to find out more about it, you can check out the 881 Wikipedia entry here. Apparently it's the second Singaporean movie to be released in Japan! The previous one was Friday Night Fever - I find it amusing how both films were "musicals" of sorts - maybe the Japanese are only interested in singing Singaporeans. :p
