Haha, my roller blades died on me pretty much the same way too - I had stored them for ages in the bench outside my house (it had one of those lift up seats for you to store things underneath), and when I took them out, the buckles broke off with a "piak piak" sound. Apparently they had melted after being stored there for so long. ^_^;;
I really, really want a new pair of rollerblades, but first I need someone to agree to be my regular rollerblading partner. *lifts eyebrow at you*
